Red Sea Ports Strategic Review
EMAAR, supported by the Saudi General Investment Authority (SAGIA), were pondering the development of a major container hub on the Saudi Red Sea coast, which is a strategic location for global seaborne trade. It was the intention to develop such a world-class container port within the huge, planned King Abdullah Economic City and the strategic ports review aimed at framing the context and identifying needs in the market.
The scope of works was to perform a strategic review of the ports and the port potential on the Red Sea coast including current situation, current and protected container volumes, bottlenecks, opportunities and outline concepts for KAEC.
