Khalifa Port
Abu Dhabi Port Company launched an ambitious plan to develop a world-class port, Khalifa Port, located between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. The port would be an offshore facility capable of handling multiple types of cargo using state-of-the-art container handling and bulk materials handling systems. For the combined phases I and II the dimensions of the reclaimed port island would be 8 square kilometres. The through-put capacity was planned to be 8 MTEU containers, 8 MMTA break bulk and 15 MMTA bulk. Channel depth was 16.5m.
The scope of work was tender design. Responsible for delivering fast-track tender design solution for gravity quay walls, mooring systems, extensive offshore breakwater and revetments.
