Great Yarmouth power plant
In connection with the power project at Great Yarmouth in UK, an offshore diffuser was planned as the downstream terminal point of the plant cooling water string. The diffuser had to be installed in a highly dynamic marine environment with high design waves and a large tidal range.
The Scope of Work included calculation of the diffuser hydrodynamic loading and the design of diffuser scour protection. The project also involved calculations of scour and hydrodynamic loading due to the combined wave-current influence, and engineering design of the scour protection.
Project executed while Jesper Damgaard was employed by HR Wallingford.
