Arun to Pagham coastal defence strategy study
Arun District Council desired to develop a Coastal Defence Strategy Plan for managing the coastline between River Arun and Pagham and the fluvial defences along the river Arun to Ford railway bridge, on the south coast of UK. The result was an extensive Coastal Defence Strategy study covering a 13 km long, highly urbanised coastal frontage. The 50 year strategy consisted of a combination of a 5 year detailed implementation plan and an outline programme for an additional 45 years.
The project involved consultation with the public, site surveys, numerical modelling, and development and assessment of engineering scheme options.
Project executed while Jesper Damgaard was employed by HR Wallingford.
